A Krispy Kreme Fairy Tale

Retreating to his throne room, the king stared morosely at the nine doughnuts left to him. "I suppose if I eat just half a doughnut a day, these may last until my son returns…" He tore one in half, finished it in one bite. "But what if it takes him less time…"

Licking his fingers, the king looked at the empty doughnut box.

"Forsooth, all my doughnuts are gone! How can I survive? Gruel? Dunkin's donuts? What to do, what to do?" With his stomach full of the doughnuts he had just eaten, the king decided to meditate on the situation.
